Luminar 3076 Seedmeister Mark IIIx

Luminar 3076 SeedMeister Mark IIIx

The Luminar 3076 is a non‑destructive seed analysis and sorting system that uses AOTF‑based NIR technology to measure critical seed attributes with speed and accuracy. It evaluates 100% of seeds in a lot and provides detailed compositional data and supports a wide range of hybrid seed classes.

  • Measurement Properties — oil, protein, moisture, starch, oleic and linoleic profiles, sugars, and other compositional traits.

  • Seed Classes Analyzed — corn, soybeans, coffee, watermelon, peanuts, sunflower, and additional hybrid seeds.

The latest SeedMeister (SeedMeister Mark IIIx) includes several enhancements that improve measurement accuracy for nuts and seeds with irregular shapes and sizes. The 3076 SeedMeister Mark IIIx provides a turnkey solution for breeders who need consistent, reliable sorting performance. It has been especially effective in measuring the oleic–linoleic ratio in peanuts, helping breeders develop healthier, higher‑value products.

Recovering Nearly 3 Million High‑Value Seeds

In a customer success spotlight, one customer demonstrated the system’s impact when facing a season of mixed lots and disease‑infected watermelon seeds. Originally used to identify and sort seeds for seedless‑watermelon breeding, the Luminar 3076 SeedMeister became essential in preventing catastrophic product loss. Nearly 3 million seeds were recovered instead of being discarded, preserving sales, protecting customer relationships, and ultimately strengthening confidence in the technology.

Key Measurement Capabilities

Luminar 3076 provides non‑destructive chemical measurements to improve agricultural quality control and speed up hybrid‑seed development.

Key parameters measured include:

Sorting Seeds — in‑line classification of high‑oleic vs. high‑linoleic peanut seeds to improve seed‑quality accuracy

Fatty Acid Profiling — continuous measurement of soybean fatty‑acid content to improve breeding performance and result reliability

Triploid Identification — rapid, conveyor‑based sorting of triploid and diploid watermelon seeds at throughputs up to 40 seeds per minute
