Optical Technician - fiber coupling laser

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic components and fiber coupling lasers.
  • Operate optical power meters, photodiodes, oscilloscopes, multi-meter, optical spectrum analyzers, and laser beam analyzers.
  • Perform various tests; collect/analyze data and maintain test records.

Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in opto-mechanical parts and assemblies desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with building fiber optic modules highly desirable.
  • Experience in using oscilloscopes and optical fiber testing equipment highly desirable.

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Knowledge of lasers and fiber optics required.
  • Experience with hand/power tools, soldering equipment and electrical meters required.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Experience with fiber optic and laser component tests preferred

Electronic/Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronics and related firmware/software for new and existing commercial products
  • Provide design and engineering support for research and development group
  • Support existing products with troubleshooting in electronics/firmware/software and improving existing design
  • Assist other engineering team personnel

Duties:

  • Electronics design (schematic and layout)
  • Embedded software/firmware development
  • Software development
  • Prototype and product development for electronics/firmware/software
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar disciplines
  • Experience in electronic design automation software
  • Strong electronics testing skills
  • Strong software debugging skills
  • Microcontroller programming experiences
  • Proficient in testing instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Technical writing skills (manuals, specifications, etc.)

Preferred skills:

  • Knowledge in optics, lasers, fiber optics, spectroscopy, RF
  • Digital signal processing
  • Data analysis
  • Computer network management
