AOTF-NIR Process Applications

Brimrose AOTF-NIR spectroscopy is a technique that has gained widespread acceptance as a powerful diagnostic tool, particularly for quality assurance and process analytical control (PAT) purposes in pharmaceutical, food/agricultural, and chemical industries. The initial use for NIR was for raw material identification to reduce the costs and time of laboratory testing.

BLENDING UNIFORMITY

Brimrose solid state, robust components enable our spectrometers to be integrated directly to the blender for real-time measurement. Our spectrometers determine when blending is complete, minimizing production time, and cost to market of your products. The most common method of blending uniformity (BU) is through the use of timing and random sampling. Timing methods with random sampling results in increased blend times, slower product turnovers, and wasted product.

FBD DRYING PROCESSING

Brimrose spectrometers are the perfect tools for in-line continuous monitoring of Fluidized Bed Dryers and Lyophilization. Mounted directly onto the dryer, Brimrose spectrometers determine the moisture during every step in the drying process for each batch; preventing product waste and improving turnaround time. As opposed to traditional methods, FBD offers faster dry times with uniform drying conditions. If properly implemented, FBD provides an ideal solution for the gentle drying of your products.

TABLET COATING ANALYSIS

AOTF-NIR spectroscopy is a non-destructive, rapid test method. The technique has been proven to accurately measure the presence and uniformity of coating on light and dark tablets, and is commonly used by pharmaceutical companies for this purpose. Brimrose AOTF-NIR has a distinct advantage over other spectroscopy devices due to its very fast scanning speed. Brimrose AOTF-NIR technology has been proven to work up to 60,000 tablets per hour.
