Validation of Wine Grape Universal Models for Brix, pH, and TA Using the Brimrose "Le Vigneron" Spectrometer
In order to validate the models for Brix, pH, and TA created in America during the 2002 growing season, spectral data and reference values for Brix, pH, and TA were collected at two wineries in Australia during the 2003 growing season. Spectra collected from one winery were used as a transfer set to transfer the calibration models created in America to the Australia data. Predictions were then done on the grapes from the other winery and the results showed that a calibration transfer for the universal model done from one wine in a given region can be used for predictions at other wineries in that region.
