Measuring Parameters in Blended Tobacco And Cloves Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy

A Brimrose AOTF-NIR hand-held spectrometer was used to scan spectra on samples of blended tobacco and cloves. The spectral data was then used to develop a quantitative method of analysis for MC, nicotine, sugar, Cl, and Eugenol. Overall, the results of this study were good and proved the feasibility of measuring parameters in both blended tobacco and cloves using spectral data collected using a Brimrose AOTF-NIR hand-held spectrometer and regression models.
