AOTF-NIR Determination of Moisture in Ceramic Slurries

A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar spectrometer was used to scan spectral data on samples of clay containing varying amounts of water. The regression model showed a clear correlation between the spectral data and the moisture content. A follow-up study was done on ceramic hardware samples and the results were duplicated, proving that the Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar spectrometer can measure moisture content in actual ceramic pieces exiting a production line.
