Distinguishing Elastomer O-Rings Samples Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy
A Brimrose Luminar 5030 spectrometer was used to scan spectral data on portions of 5 elastomer O-Rings samples: Silicone, Fluorosilicone, Nitrile, EPDM, Viton The raw spectral data was collected in transmittance mode and processed into absorbance and first derivative. The spectral data was imported into the chemometrics software program The Unscramblerä. PCA model was done for qualitative analysis and PLS1 model was done for regression analysis after an arbitrary value 1 and 2 were assigned to Nitrile and Viton black samples. Both PCA and PLS1 model showed good results. The result of this study showed the feasibility of distinguish elastomer O-Ring samples using Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar 5030 Analyzer.
