Abstract of the chem#24
Measuring Progression in a Bromination-Chlorination Reaction Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy

A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Spectrometer with a transflectance probe used to monitor variations in spectra as a result of a bromination-chlorination reaction. The study was performed to develop a method to qualitatively determine the point in the reaction that would product the largest yield. A PCA was performed on the samples and displayed clustering of samples. This analysis demonstrates that a Brimrose AOTF-NIR spectrometer would allow for process monitoring of a bromination-chlorination reaction.
