The Determination of Moisture in Microcrystalline Cellulose (Avicel^TM)
Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy

A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar 3030 Free Space Spectrometer was mounted on the window of a spray dryer and spectra were collected from four different product types of Avicel^TM with varying amounts of moisture. Reference data were collected for moisture in the Avicel^TM. A PCA model was clearly able to distinguish between the four product types of Avicel^TM and PLS 1 regression model was able to quantify moisture in all four product types of Avicel^TM.
