Brimrose is the world leader in Electro-Optic Technology with OEM commercials and R&D activities that include all major photonic applications. In particular, we have addressed the rapid growing of need of various fiber optic components. We have developed a patent pending all optical, intellegent Microsencond switch. Also Brimrose has developed optical imaging systems. The AOTF-based imaging systems equipped with radio-frequency driver software provides features such as narrow bandwidth, rapid wavelength selection, higher spatial resolution, spectral resolution and intensity control. Our products have been manufactured to meet the most demanding commercial and defense specifications.

From our humble beginnings from the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland in 1980, Brimrose has received over $61 million to develop the very unique AOTF Imager Technology and other intellegent projects. In our early years, 10 percent of the business was commercial and 90 percent SBIR. As the company started commercializing new products, however, this percentage shifted to 80 percent commercial revenue and 20 percent SBIR revenue. 30% of revenues was re-invested in new technologies and products for military and commercial uses. Funding has been obtained from the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory Spaceflight Center, Department of Energy and various US Military DOD facilities.
