Brimrose Corporation of America was founded in 1980 by Dr. Ron Rosemeier as R&D laboratory utilizing various SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) programs. Mercury-manganese-tellurium compounds were developed, yielding photo-voltaic detectors with superior bandwidth performance. This technology forms the basis for today's Light Generation and Detection division of Brimrose Corporation.

Brimrose further developed unique solutions utlizing acousto-optic tunalble filters (AOTF) for applictions for the industrial and military uses. With over 30 years of strong global presence and experience in industrial cooperation, Brimrose has become the premier customer-driven manufacturer and provider of AOTF NIR Analyzers as well as a leading manufacturer of Acousto-Optic devices, and infrared detector systems.

Brimrose has relocated its 50 employees from White Marsh to the new headquarters in Sparks by October, 2005 because the new facility easily can be expanded to keep up with Brimrose's growth.

Brimrose's funding has been obtained from the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory Spaceflight Center, Department of Energy and various US Military DOD facilities. 80% of the company's business is now commercial and 30% of company's revenues was re-invested in new technologies and products for military and commercial uses. Started out from the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland in 1980, Brimrose has received over $61 million to develop the very unique AOTF Technology, our legacy.
