Brimrose offers a complete line of collimators with very low back reflection, designed to collimate light exiting a fiber to a specified beam diameter or spot size. By utilizing diffraction limited lenses spot sizes of a few microns can be achieved. Brimrose designs and manufactures matched pairs of collimators to couple light in and out of the desired device. We look forward to apply our collimators to your device application.
Fiber optic collimators are available for any wavelength from 180 nm to 2100 nm, and can be used with multimode, single mode, and polarization maintaining (PM) fibers. Our devices maintain polarization to better than 20dB when used with PM fibers. Higher dB versions are available upon request.
We manufacture for 60dB back reflection for our pig-tailed collimators. All our fibers and grin lenses are antireflection coated in house for maximum performance.
Environment Test
- Temperature cycling test -40deg. C to 80 deg. C for 14 days, rate 1 deg. C/min dwell, 1 hour at extremes
- High temperature bake: 80 deg. C for 2000 hours
- Vibration test: 3 axes 20gis at 20-2000Hz
- Shock test: 3 axes, 100gis, 11ms
- Max. tensile test: 5N force for 10 sec.
