Coextruded Samples Using
AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose AOTF-NIR free space spectrometer was used to scan spectral data on 11 blown film coextruded samples containing with different coating thickness of EVOH (Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Co Polymer). PLS 1 regression analysis was done to correlate the spectral data to the EVOH thickness. The regression showed good results and indicated that EVOH thickness can be measured using spectral data and regression model. Some of the data points were removed from the model to be used as a validation set and these data points were predicted using the regression model. The predictions were accurate and verified that EVOH thickness can be predicted from spectral data.
