Measuring the Amine-Based Compound "EG"
in Nylon 6,6 Fibers Using AOTF-NIR

Abstract:
A Brimrose Luminar AOTF-NIR handheld
spectrometer was used to scan
samples of Nylon 6,6 fibers with
varying amount of "EG", an
amine-based compound. Spectral peaks
were seen in the C-H and N-H
absorbing areas of the NIR spectrum.
PLS 1 regression modeling showed
good correlatiion between the
spectral data and EG values.
