AOTF-NIR Determination of Total Sugars
and Brix in Orange Juice
Abstract:
A Brimrose AOTF-NIR spectrometer was
used to scan spectral data on
samples of orange juice. Reference
values were found for total sugars
and brix and calibration models were
created for both parameters. The
results showed that it is definitely
feasible to implement an on-line
application to measure total sugars
and brix in orange juice using
spectral data obtained from the
Brimrose AOTF-NIR spectrometer and
calibration model.
