AOTF-NIR Determination of
Phtalic Acid in Phtalic
Anhydride
Abstract:
A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar
spectrometer was used to
scan spectral data on
samples of phtalic anhydride
with varying amounts of
phtalic acid. The spectral
data and reference data were
used to generate a
regression model correlating
the amount of phtalic acid
to the spectral data. The
results were very good,
especially for the small
size of the sample set, and
clearly showed that the
Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar
spectrometer can measure
phtalic acid in phtalic
anhydride.
