Discriminating Between High
Oleic Acid and Linoleic
Sunflower Seeds Using AOTF-NIR
Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose Luminar 3076 Seed
Meister was used to scan
spectra on sunflower seeds
with high oleic acid and
lineoleic acid content.
Spectra were acquired for
both shelled seeds and the
embryo after the seeds were
shelled. The calibration
models showed good results
and prediction results
verified that sunflower
seeds can be separated based
on high oleic acid and
linoleic content using
spectral data acquired using
the Brimrose Luminar 3076
Seed Meister and calibration
models.
