The Determination of Percent Oil,
Protein, and Moisture in Bulk Cork
Kernels Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose Luminar AOTF-NIR Free
Space Spectrometer was used to
collect spectra of corn kernels
for the purpose of predicting
percent oil, protein, and
moisture. Reference data was
available for the corn kernels
and PLS 1 regression models were
created for oil, protein and
moisture. The results showed
that the Brimrose spectrometer
can accurately predict these
parameters in corn using
spectral data and calibration
models.
