Separating High and Low Oleic Acid
Soybean and Corn Seeds Using AOTF-NIR
Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar Free
Space Spectrometer was used to
separate soybean and corn seeds
based on high and low oleic acid
content. Separation was maintained
between high and low oleic acid
seeds despite the lack of reference
values because the spectral
differences were strong enough that
the model was able to achieve
separation anyway. Separation was
also maintained between 3 types of
corn seeds based on the oleic acid
content.
