Real-Time On-Line Analysis of Lyophilized
Pharmaceuticals Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Luminar 2040 spectrometer
operating in diffuse reflectance mode was used
to collect spectral data on lyophilized
pharmaceutical steroids with known reference
values for moisture. PCA analysis was used to
distinguish between three types of steroids and
PLS 1 analysis was used to quantify the moisture
in the steroids. The results showed clear
separation between the steroids and that the
Brimrose spectrometer was able to quantify the
amount of moisture in the lyophilized
pharmaceuticals.
