Determination of Dosage Levels in Transdermal
Patches on a Moving Line Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose Luminar 3030 Free Space spectrometer
was used to scan spectral data of transdermal
patches with varying dosage levels of a drug.
Reference values were found for the dosage
levels and calibration models were created for
both high and low dosage levels using the
reference values and the spectral data. The
results were more than accurate enough to
provide real-time on-line process control of the
eight-lane production line and fast enough to
provide one reading per minute for each lane.
