The Measurement of the Number of Coating Layers
on Pharmaceutical Tablets Using AOTF-NIR
Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose Luminar 3030 Free Space spectrometer
was used to scan spectral data on two different
types of tablets with different amounts of
coating layers. Chemometric analysis showed
clear discrimination between the two types of
tablets and separation between tablets with
different numbers of coating layers. The results
were excellent, especially considering that the
data set was quite small and the reference
values were nominal and not absolute.
