Feasibility and Speed Evaluation of Measuring
Moisture in a Pharmaceutical Powder Inside Glass
Vials Using AOTF-NIR Spectroscopy
Abstract:
A Brimrose AOTF-NIR Free Space spectrometer was
used to scan spectral data on two pharmaceutical
powders in glass vials having different moisture
values. The repeatability and signal-to-noise
ratio of the spectra were excellent and there
were clear and discernible spectral differences
in the two powders. It was estimated that the
optimized process for scanning the vials would
be to scan at a rate of 300 vials per minute.
