Brimrose AOTF-NIR Spectrometers are excellent tools for measurement of fuel properties. Good results for gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and gasoil as well as BTX components in fuels in vapor analyzers can be used in process in many areas of the refinery. Calibrations can be transferred from the laboratory to the industrial analyzers; a 16 channel multiplexer provides a very cost effective solution for multiple stream applications, such as blending. If Brimrose's customized engineering and application support are properly utilized, a "turnkey" solution can be achieved.
Applications
|

|

|
BTX Application
Brimrose AOTF-NIR exhibits its excellent signal to noise ratio and dynamic range allowing the measurement of both PPM and percentage levels of BTX (Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene) components in fuels in vapor. |

Gasoline Blending
The following compounds and constituents can be measured using a Brimrose AOTF-NIR Spectrometer:
- Research Octane No. (RON)
- Motor Octane No. (MON)
- (R+M)/2
- Aromatics
- Olefins
- Benzene
- Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP)
- MTBE
- TAME
- Total Oxygenates
It can be measured in following streams:
- Blend Header
- Reformate Stream
- Alkylate Stream
- MTBE Stream
- LCC Stream
- Pentane Splitter
Bottoms
- Heavy Aromatics
- Light Straight Run
- Hydrocracker Gasoline

Gasoil Applications
Brimrose AOTF-NIR Spectrometers are excellent method for determining chemical and physical properties in Gasoil. The following parameters can be measured.
- Cloud Point
- Distillation Points
- Density

|

|
Kerosene Applications
AOTF-NIR is an excellent method for chemical and physical properties in Kerosene. The following parameters can be measured using Brimrose AOTF-NIR spectrometers.
- Flash Point
- Density
- Freezing Point
- Viscosity
- Distillation Points
-
All physical measurements, but this will be dependent upon the presence or absence of certain chemical constituents, e.g. aromatics, paraffins, content, etc.

Integration to DCS
Brimrose AOTF-NIR Spectrometers are "adaptable" to real process environments via different types of communication:
- Ethernet
- Modbus protocol (RS232/485/422)
- 4-20mA outputs
