Optical Designer

Responsible for providing designs and documentation for optical systems with emphasis on telecommunication applications, you will perform conceptual and detailed designs, prepare specifications, identify system adjustments, and prepare material and labor estimates for all design activity. Additionally, you will supervise Technicians and prepare and advise on test plans. You hold a relevant university degree complemented by a minimum of six years' related experience. Proficiency with technical computing software and code programming systems is essential, as are in-depth knowledge of optical physics and excellent analytical and communication skills. Familiarity with optical design software would be beneficial.
